dart is my daily art project. dart stands for daily art. i launched dart in 2006 with the intention of making 365 pieces of art in 365 days, from september 1st 2006 to august 31st 2007.
i got the idea of making something on a daily basis from tom judd's everyday project. he did a drawing everyday for one year and put each one on his website for the world to see. then i came across feanne's daily drawings project. she did a drawing everyday too & she had a brilliant motto for it: "one drawing everyday. any size. any medium. it doesn't have to be perfect. it doesn't have to be any good. it just has to be done everyday."
then, one day when i had to nothing to do, i thought why don't i do a daily art project? it'd be a challenge but great for practicing and anyway, i love working on creative stuff, so it'd be fun as well. so i took the strict daily focus of tom judd's project & the loose motto of feanne's project (i changed "one drawing" to "one piece of art" though to allow for a variety of art-forms) and came up with dart. thanks to tom and feanne for the inspiration.
